Spofford Yacht Club (SYC) was founded in 1898 as a private, family oriented organization dedicated to the sport of recreational and competitive sailing.  The club is located on beautiful Spofford Lake in Chesterfield, New Hampshire.  Its membership consists of 50 families whose common goal is to promote sailing, the science of seamanship and navigation; and to continue the long tradition of sailing on Spofford Lake.  

 

SYC is a volunteer-based organization whose members assume a variety of roles and responsibilities to maintain the club and foster community and fellowship among sailors.  The club hosts both regional and national regattas and supports an active weekly racing schedule.  Our members sail and race Sunfish, Flying Scots, Lightnings and Catboats. We also sail Typhoons and run a Saturday Series Handicap fleet.
